Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 550-26, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 550-26, transmitted by Mayor C. Kimo Alameda via Communication No. 862, dated
April 9, 2026, authorizes the payment of funds of later fiscal years for the funding of cost items
associated with the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Bargaining Unit 11, and certain other
employees excluded from Bargaining Unit 11 for the contract period beginning July 1, 2025, and
ending June 30, 2029.
The estimated costs over the four years of the new contract resulting from across-the-board increases
would be $25,292,860.
Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz disclosed that her partner is a member of the Fire
Department and would be recusing herself from the vote.
There was no further discussion.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 550-26, and
recommends its adoption.
