Carvalho Hawaii County Police Department 349 Kapiolani Street Hilo, HI 96720-3998 Dear Chief Carvalho: Attached is an amended copy of the modified application for highway safety project reimbursement grant number AL2K-02(01-H-02), entitled "HCPD Sobriety Checkpoint Expansion". The modification increases the HCPD grant obligation by $15,000 from $40,320 to $55,320. The purpose of this addendum is to increase the number of sobriety checkpoints in Hawaii County by 32. The additional checkpoints will allow HCPD to screen 8,000 vehicles, make 20 DUI arrests, 30 additional other arrests, and issue 150 traffic citations.. Very Truly Yours, 4wor n .
