RESOLUTION NO. 8 26
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL
YEARS TO ENTER INTO A MULTI -YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR ONE WIDE -
FORMAT COLOR DIGITAL IMAGING SYSTEM TO BE USED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
WHEREAS. Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the
Chaner") provides, in part, that "any contract, lease or other ociigation requiring the payment of
funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made
or approved by resolution"; and
WHEREAS. the Department of Public Works (hereinafter "the Department") wishes to
enter into a multi -year lease agreement, with a term of five years, for one wide format color
multifunction copy machine with digital imaging capability; and
WHEREAS. the Department estimates the annual cost of this lease agreement to be
$4,191.93; and
WHEREAS, this copy machine will be utilized in Hilo by County personnel within the
3c;;a,-t.nent's Traffic Division; and
WHEREAS, the lease agreement for the wide format color multifunction copy machine
that is currently utilized by the Department has expired; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi -year lease agreement with a tern of five years
for the purposes hereinabove described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter,
sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the
County under the terms of the lease agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to Wesley R. Segawa,Director of Public Works, and Diane T.Nakagawa,Director of
Finance.
