Darrow, Planning Director <br />RE: <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />AWARD FUNDS FOR THE KILAUEA RECOVERY GRANT PROGRAM <br />Transmitted herewith is the above -entitled measure for the Council's review and <br />consideration. <br />The Kilauea Recovery Grant Program funds nonprofit organizations to provide relief, <br />recovery, mitigation, and long-term resilience for disaster damages, losses, and <br />suffering caused by the 2018 Kilauea eruption. <br />These two Kilauea Recovery Grant 3 projects were approved in Resolution 459-26 but <br />because their fiscal sponsor, Hawai'i's Volcano Circus, has withdrawn as a fiscal <br />sponsor, the project managers of these two projects have secured sponsorship from <br />Pohaku Pelemaka, a Hawai'i nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization. <br />Attached is a resolution requesting the authorization of $142,000.00 in grants to this <br />nonprofit organization through the Kilauea Recovery Grant Program for FY 2025-2026. <br />If you have any questions, please contact Patti Pinto at patti.pinto .hawaiicounty.aov or <br />808-961-8500. <br />Mahalo nui, <br />?effrey W.
