SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
S. Iwaiwa Street: Proposed No Parking Zone
We received a request to prohibit parking on both sides of S. Iwaiwa Street. This roadway is
approximately 9-fr. wide with 1-fr.to 2-fr. shoulder on the mauka side and adrop-off on the makai
side. Presently, parked cars restrict ingress/egress from residents' driveways and would make it
difficult for emergency vehicles to gain access.
Residents of S. Iwaiwa Street support this proposal.
We request that the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 under
(c) Hilo (no parking at anytime) be amended as described in the attached draft for an ordinance. A
location map is attached.
