COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 590 26 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 4TH OF JULY HILO BAY <br />BLAST EVENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Education Division <br />provides educational and community -based activities and events to celebrate, perpetuate, and <br />foster the appreciation of our islands' rich multicultural heritage in the arts, history, and the <br />humanities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hilo Bay Blast is a community event scheduled for July 4, 2026, and is <br />open to the public to enjoy free of charge; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to assist with <br />the planning and operations of this event, including public safety, traffic control, event logistics, <br />and fireworks -related expenses, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or <br />promoting the interests of educational concerns, culture and the arts, the needs of the poor, <br />youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, and the public health and welfare <br />of our island community; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation for expenses relating to the 4th of July Hilo Bay Blast event. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
