COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 928/Res. No. 586-26
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 586-26, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 586-26, transmitted by Planning Director Jeffrey W. Darrow via Communication
No. 928, dated May 18, 2026, authorizes the Planning Department to award funds to P6haku Pelemaka
through the Kilauea Recovery Grant Program.
This resolution provides $142,000 in grant funds to P6haku Pelemaka to provide relief, recovery,
mitigation, and long-term resilience for disaster damages, losses, and suffering caused by the
2018 Kilauea eruption.
Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz provided a brief overview and asked for her colleagues'
support on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 586-26, and
recommends its adoption.
