A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATIONS MADE BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE HAWAI‘I STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES FOR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE
WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i is a member of the Hawai‘i State Association of Counties, Inc. (hereinafter “HSAC”), the National Association of Counties (hereinafter “NACo”), and the
Western Interstate Region (hereinafter “WIR”); and
WHEREAS, Sections 5A and 5C of the HSAC Bylaws require the Council’s approval of the nominations made by the HSAC Executive Committee for the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board
of Directors; and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee nominated the following members:
KipuKai Kualiʻi of the Kaua‘i County Council and Tommy Waters of the Honolulu City Council to serve on the NACo Board of the Directors for a term beginning June 22, 2026; and
Shane Sinenci of the Maui County Council and Arryl Kaneshiro of the Kaua‘i County Council to serve on the WIR Board of the Directors for a term beginning June 22, 2026; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with the HSAC Bylaws, the nominations made by the HSAC Executive Committee are hereby approved.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the President and the Secretary of the Hawai‘i State Association of Counties, Inc.
