Mahalo, Mr. Relley Araceley Office of the County Clerk County of Hawaii 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 1402 Hilo, HI 96720 (808) 961-8429 From: Simmy <simmy808@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2026 8:18 AM To: Council Remote Testimony <councilremotetestimony@hawaiicounty.gov> Subject: Bill 165 Aloha County Council, I wanted to comment on the process of PONC Maintenance fund. I submitted 3 parcels 6 years ago! and all 3 were approved! February 2026 one was purchased, Keakealaniwahine of Banyans. TMK (3) 7-6-014:13 The process of obtaining funds is difficult I'm learning. To submit for 2026, the deadline closed at the end of 2025. Now funding application is of now July / August 2026, but funding won't go into effect until 2027. This particular parcel is small of 15,372 sq. ft. The location is of the Best Surfing Spot of all of Kona. All our surf contests are held here. The waves are awesome. At this time if really needs a bathroom, shower, and parking. I'm submitting my application at this time as I do have a 501c3. But, realizing the process and the time it takes to get this fast forward to benefit the public, I would like to suggest the County Parks and recreation to help our community of this particular one. I believe White Sands Beach, Kipapa Park has done this in 2011. Please consider this a benefit for all of our community. 1 And Mahalo Nui Loa for this Awesome Purchase. Mahalo to our Mayor Kimo Alameda. Our Surf community is so excited, two weeks ago Surfers did a Banyans Beach Cleanup. Wahi Pana of Surf is of our Cultural!
