Re: Comm. No. 961/Bill No. 174
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 174, reports as follows:
Bill No. 174, transmitted by Research and Development Deputy Director Dennis Lin via
Communication No. 961, dated July 6, 2026, amends Ordinance No. 26-44, the Operating Budget
of the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027.
This bill appropriates revenues in the revenues in the State Grants — Kona Low Small Business
Recovery Grant account ($500,000) and appropriates the same to the Kona Low Small Business
Recovery Grant Program account. Funds will be used to support one-time relief to eligible Hawaii
Island small businesses that sustained material and economic or physical damage from the Kona
Low Storm.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 174, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
