HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 645 Draft 01 2024-2026A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL YEARS TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH JUST APPRAISED INC. TO RENEW A SOFTWARE LICENSE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE,
REAL PROPERTY TAX DIVISION.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaiʻi (hereinafter “the Charter”) provides, in part, that “any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds
from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution”; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance (hereinafter “the Department”) wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with Just Appraised Inc., a property tax assessment software company, beginning
July 1, 2026, for a term of three years; and
WHEREAS, the Department’s Real Property Tax Division currently utilizes Just Appraised Inc. software to streamline the tax assessment workflow, which includes updating ownership information
that is used for the issuance of assessments, tax billing, and other required correspondences; and
WHEREAS, the Department wishes to renew the software license and estimates the cost to be approximately $61,110 per year; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for a term of three years for the purposes hereinabove described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter, sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under
the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to William V. Brilhante, Jr., Managing Director; and Diane T. Nakagawa, Director of Finance.
