Subject:GP 2045 - Opposing proposed land use change (written testimony)
The 20 year new plan contains hundreds of goals, policies, and
actions that exceed the County's available resources and capacity to
implement.
Too many map errors. Council Member James Hustace found seven
errors in just one district. Land use decisions should not be based on
maps that still contain significant mistakes.
Too much vague language. Broad and unclear policies could allow
future administrations to reinterpret land use, development, and
community priorities without direct public approval.
Creates uncertainty for property owners. The plan gives future
decision-makers significant discretion, making it difficult for
residents to know how policies may affect their land in the future.
