Written testimony on amendments to Hawaii County General Plan 2045
Aloha Council Members, I and many other inhabitants of Hawaii County are against implementation of
GP2045 and have been warning the council of the many problems which will lead to consequences in the
future that will deprive Hawaii County inhabitants of their native god given freedoms and liberties. My
only recourse since this Council has voted in favor of GP2045 is my far-flung hope that important
amendments to the present general plan are made. I say far-flung because the majority of the Council,
and the planning commissions have ignored all negative testimony as if they were never spoken, and
summarily voted and moved the GP2045 forward without including the many objections to the plan.
GP2045 was accepted by this Council without this Council officially including in writing, their
acknowledgement of these many objections to GP2045.
I am supporting all of the amendments that have been put forth to this Council by Michelle Melendez, her
detailed itemization of the amendments needs to be seriously considered and used to craft new verbiage
that guarantees the safeguards that these amendments are designed to give Hawaii county inhabitants.
Your role as our representatives requires you to seriously address all of the issues that your people have
brought to you. Liberty and freedom for the inhabitants of Hawaii County has slowly been abridged then
normalized away through various types of real or declared emergencies that spawned the introduction of
Bills that turn into ordinances that restrict and make illegal, what the people used to freely do. To add
insult to injury, monetary extraction through permits and licenses are often imposed to legalize what was
once a free activity.
These amendments must be put into General Plan 2045.
