TESTIMONY IN SUPPORT OF
RESOLUTION NO. 621 26
August 5, 2026 County Council Meeting
On behalf of Friends of First Responders, I would like to thank Council
Member Michelle Galimba for introducing this Resolution and the entire
County Council for your ongoing support of our organization. Your support
of our work to provide programs and resources for our first responders and
their families demonstrates your recognition of the valuable services they
provide to our community and your commitment to their well-being.
We support this resolution that would provide financial support to
provide books to be distributed at our trainings and events that would
further the knowledge of first responders and their family members on the
topics covered. It always enhances training when we can provide resources
for them to take home with them.
The books we selected support personal wellness and help first
responders and their families understand how this career affects family life.
Providing these materials to family members helps them better understand
their first responder, strengthening relationships.
For these reasons – we encourage our County Council to approve this
resolution that will help to strengthen our first responder families.
