RESOLUTION 625-26
Aloha Chair Inaba, Vice Chair Onishi, and Council Members. My name is Cristina Holt and I am a Hilo
resident and community advocate. I am testifying in strong support of Resolution 625-26, which provides
$2,500 to Friends of the Future for the 4th Annual Celebrate ʻ Ohana Festival.
The festival will be held on November 7 at Queen ʻ s MarketPlace in Waikōloa. It is free, family-centered,
and connects West Hawai ʻ i keiki and ʻ ohana with early learning programs, community resources, and
hands-on activities. This is exactly the kind of community investment I want my county tax dollars
supporting.
This is a modest public investment with a broad community return: informed families, connected
partners, and stronger opportunities for West Hawai ʻ i keiki. I urge the Council to pass this resolution.
