Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 611-26, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 611-26, transmitted by Acting Police Chief Sherry D. Bird via Communication
No. 973, dated July 15, 2026, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with
the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General, to receive a grant for the Hawaii Police
De -Escalation Training Project.
This resolution allows for the receipt of $129,033 in federally -derived funds to be used to conduct
Verbal Judo de-escalation training for law enforcement.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 611-26, and
recommends its adoption.
