Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating federal funds of $1,600,000
for the Kilauea Corridor Traffic Signal Upgrade project. Upgraded will be the
signal systems at the intersections of Kilauea Avenue with Kawailani Street,
Kawili Street, Mohouli Street, Aupuni Street and Kekuanao'a Street.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 00-64 to add Kilauea Corridor Traffic Signal
Upgrade project. Work to include upgrading the signal systems at the
intersections of Kilauea Avenue with Kawailani Street, Kawili Street,
Mohouli Street, Aupuni Street and Kekuanaca Street. Estimated cost for
design and construction is $2,000,000.00. The Federal share for design
and construction is $1,600,000.00. Request is for Federal account of
$1,600,000.00 only. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The State DOT and the Federal Highway Administration approved the
construction of Federal-Aid Project No. STP-1920(9), Kilauea Corridor
Traffic Signal Upgrade project on the FY 1999 Statewide Transportation
Improvement Plan.
