A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THREE MULTI-FUNCTION COPY MACHINES TO BE USED BY THE OFFICE OF HOUSING
AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter of the County of Hawai‘i (hereinafter “the Charter”) provides, in part, that “any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment
of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution”; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (hereinafter “OHCD”) wishes to enter into multi-year lease agreement, with a term of five years, for three multi-function copy
machines; and
WHEREAS, OHCD estimates the annual cost of the lease agreement to be $11,000 for one machine to be utilized by the Administration Division, $8,000 for one machine to be utilized by the
Existing Housing Division, and $6,000 for one machine to be utilized by OHCD’s West Hawai‘i Civic Center personnel, for an estimated total of $25,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, the lease agreement for the copy machines that are currently utilized by OHCD will expire on October 31, 2026; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with a term of five years for the purposes hereinabove
described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter, sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under
the terms of the lease agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit copy of this resolution to William V. Brilhante, Jr., Managing Director; Diane T. Nakagawa, Director of Finance; and Kehaulani
M. Costa, Housing Administrator.
