Council People,
We the following oppose maintaining Kinoole Street between
Ponahawai and Kukuau Street, Hilo, Hawaii in its present
state. Please return it to two way as it was prior to
construction, for the following reasons:
Kukuau street does not have adequate infrastructure-
narrow, utility poles, residences close to roadway, no
sidewalks, will create additional parking problems
for residences and business in ;he area,
Kukuau was not intended as a major thoroughfare.
Safety- lcCt. turns into K'_lauea from Kukuau will be
hazardous because of site distance speed (this is a
four lane, staighLaway). Kilauea is usually well used.
One way traffic patterns are frustrating, wastes fuel,
inconvenient, drivers unfamiliar with roads frequently
are in wrong lanes to turn and just turn from their
lane,
