Aloha,
I am a full time Hawaii Island resident and I have been hosting in my primary residence for over 10 years. The extra
money I make with hosting helps me pay my bills and keep my home in tidy and well repaired condition. We have paid all
the appropriate GET, TAT and RPT and been good community members as well.
The council stated that there would be "just a registration bill" and that additional rules/penalties would be considered after
reviewing the registrations. Considering today is opening of registration, that promise was obviously false.
This bill is extremely confusing, complex and full of penalties. Please slow down this process. There should be more
leeway and less regulatory burden for full time primary resident hosts.
