RESOLUTION NO. 677 2G
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
PURCHASE SUPPLIES FOR HI-PAL ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Police Department is committed to providing the highest
quality of police service and forming partnerships with the community to make Hawai`i Island a
safe place to live, visit, and conduct business; and
WHEREAS, HI-PAL (Hawai`i Isle Police Activities League) is a community youth
program under the Hawai`i Police Department that provides social and athletic activities for
Hawai`i Island youth to promote a spirit of sportsmanship,benevolence, friendship, sociability,
goodwill, and tolerance; and
WHEREAS, HI-PAL is requesting funds for sports equipment for girls flag football, a
volleyball tournament, and a 3-on-3 basketball event,participant prizes for a keiki rodeo,
medical supplies and support for a baseball clinic, and ingredients and kitchen supplies for a
cooking contest; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Police
Department to purchase supplies for HI-PAL activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
