Subject:Oppose Bill 186 & Bill 187
Dear Council Members,
The Wildfire Safety Advocates of Waikoloa have worked very hard to provide a list to you of very valid
reasons as to why the approval of both Bill 186 and Bill 187 is not justified.
One reason that jumped out at me was the following:
"The state Attorney General's Lāhainā investigation rated Waikōloa's wildfire risk at 100 percent higher
than any other place in the country, even higher than Lāhainā before its fire."
Since there are no current plans to build an evacuation route for Waikoloa, and since Waikoloa has a
long history of wildfires, it is imperative that you NOT approve of Bill 186 and Bill 187 at this time.
