RESOLUTION NO. G99 26
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING
ATTORNEY TO ASSIST WITH THE "UNLOCKING HOPE" DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
VISIBILITY PROJECT.
WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is committed to making a difference
in the fight against crime through effective prosecution strategies and ensures that victims are
treated with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity; and
WHEREAS,in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month,the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney will present the"Unlocking Hope"Domestic Violence Visibility Project
throughout October,through which community members will be invited to attach locks to a
designated park fence as a visual symbol of solidarity, strength, and remembrance for local
survivors and victims of domestic violence, creating a dynamic display that will serve as a
powerful, daily reminder that our community stands united against abuse and supports those on
the path to healing; and
WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is requesting funds for locks with
keys for the"Unlocking Hope"Domestic Violence Visibility Project; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to assist with the"Unlocking Hope"Domestic Violence Visibility Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
