Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 670-26,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 670-26, transmitted by Public Works Director Wesley Segawa via Communication
No. 1064, dated August 27, 2026, authorizes the payment of funds of later fiscal years to enter into a
multi-year lease agreement for two dump trucks to be used by the Department of Public Works.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate
total annual cost of$110,000, to be used for hauling material,paving, and removing debris.
Public Works Business Manager Kelsey Kalua-Lewis and Finance Director Diane Nakagawa were
present.
Committee Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi asked whether these leases were for new or used vehicles.
Ms. Kalua-Lewis confirmed that the leases were for new vehicles. Mr. Onishi then asked whether
there had been any County vehicle auctions recently. Ms.Nakagawa confirmed that there had been
one.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 670-26, and
recommends its adoption.
