Re: Resolution Increasing Time Element
Enclosed is a resolution increasing the time element of two Lifeguard I (Pool)
positions at the Charles `Sparky' Kawamoto Swim Stadium. With the increase
in time, new programs and longer hours can be made available to the public.

Parks & Recreation.

Increase HC 2854, Lifeguard I Pool from 2/5T to full-time
Increase HC 2065, Lifeguard I Pool from 1/2T to 3/5T
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHE .T A
NEEDED):
For safety purposes at the 50 meter pools, two lifeguards should be on duty at all times.
As our operation and service to the public has evolved and grown over the years our
staffing needs have increased. By increasing these positions time elements, we will be
able to offer expanded hours to the community. The hours at Kawamoto are now 10:15
a.m. to 6:45 p.m., this will allow us to expand our hours to 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m to
better serve the community. This will also allow the Senior Lifeguard more
administrative time.
