Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-being,to which was referred Bill No. 200,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 200,transmitted by Council Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz via Communication
No. 1096, dated September 17, 2026, amends Chapter 14 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983
(2016 Edition, as amended),by adding a new article relating to the establishment of a Mo`olelo
Interpretation Program.
Bill 200 allows "interpretative installations" on County property.
Ms. Kierkiewicz provided a brief overview. She shared that no funding will be specifically
allocated and funding for proposals will be at the discretion of the administering depaitiiient or
the proposing organization.
Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-Being is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill 200, and recommends its passage on first reading.
