Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the following nominations to the Hawaii County
Veterans Advisory Committee:
• Louis Kaoiwi of Hilo (Council District 4) to succeed himself. If approved, he
will serve as an unattached member and will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2005.
• Shigeru Ushijima of Hilo (Council District 2) to replace George Y. Taketa
(Council District 4), who resigned effective May 29, 2000. If approved, he will
represent Club 100, and will serve the balance of the unexpired term which
will end on December 31, 2000. (May be reappointed for a second term).
