Hello Councilmembers
Our family is extremely concerned about wildfire hazards in Waikoloa Village and the potential for
traffic gridlock during emergency evacuation.
Bills 186 and 187 will allow a large increase in population, intensifying those life-safety hazards. It is
imperative that a plan be developed for the new n population to use a new (second) access road for
daily use and emergency use from the Village down to Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway.
Before new development, WaikÅloa needs a second road, funded and planned. The County needs to
spend the $2,500,000 that is already allocated to the design and planning of the road; and a real
emergency evacuation study
Until those are in place, we are asking the Council to defer these bills.
