We oppose the passage of Bill 147, which lacks clarity and equality. The County
Council needs to enforce current laws about noise, parking, and tax-paying rather
than adding redundant restric?ve clauses and addi?onal charges. We are hosts
who live on the property. We insist that our guests respect the neighborhood and
not make gratuitous noise. We provide ample off-street parking for all of our
guests. We pay all of our taxes regularly and punctually. Hosts like us—and I
suspect that we are among the majority—should not be subjected to new arbitrary
rules and charges. Instead, those who regularly ignore the laws and rules should
be the targets of legal enforcement.
