Rather than waiting for families to reach traditional clinics, the Rural Early Detection and Access Program (REDAP)
brings developmental assessments and pediatric rehabilitation expertise into preschools, daycares, schools,
community organizations, and other trusted settings. The care pathway includes developmental assessment,
telehealth-supported evaluation when appropriate, pediatric physical therapy, caregiver coaching, individualized
home strategies, care coordination, warm referrals, and follow-up. REDAP integrates early detection, pediatric
physical therapy, caregiver wellness, family support, telehealth, community partnerships, and rural workforce
development. It addresses the"rural pediatric access domino effect;'in which delayed care can contribute to
missed developmental opportunities, caregiver stress, travel and work burdens, and fragmented services.
