RE: Support for Bill 201 Mass Transit Kailua-Kona Hub and Park & Ride on Kuakini
Highway
$5 million toward the development of the Mass Transit Kailua-Kona Hub and Park & Ride on Kuakini
Highway.
Our brewery and pub are deeply rooted in Kailua-Kona, and we see firsthand the challenges that
traffic, limited parking, and transportation create for our employees, customers, and neighboring
businesses.
Reliable and accessible public transportation is important to our workforce and to the long-term
vitality of Kona's business community. Bringing transit services closer to the Old Industrial area
would improve access to employment, support local businesses, and help reduce traffic congestion.
The opportunity to use the facility for public parking during evening hours would also provide a
practical benefit to nearby businesses and the broader community.
As a local employer, we recognize the importance of infrastructure that supports both economic
activity and the quality of life of our residents.
I respectfully ask the Council to approve Bill 201 on final reading on November 6.
