Kealakehe Elementary School (KES) is a Title I.school serving approximately 900 students in preschool through fifth grade. Throughout the school year, KES hosts family engagement events that bring students and families onto campus to learn, participate in enrichment and cultural activities, interact with school staff, and celebrate their school community. Planned activities include Feed &Read events, family activity nights, community reading events, and a school-wide Culture Festival. Contingency Relief Funding (CRF) will support 12 family engagement events during the 2026-2027 school year by providing food, refreshments, and activity supplies. All events are offered at no cost to participating students and families. Providing meals helps make evening activities more accessible, as busy work schedules, transportation challenges, and the cost of an additional meal can make participation difficult for families. These gatherings create welcoming opportunities for families to spend time together and become more involved in their children's school experiences. By reducing practical barriers to participation, the project will help KES engage families throughout the school year and strengthen the sense of community and belonging within the Kealakehe Elementary School'ohana. *41. 5O1(c)(3) Mission Statement Partners in Development Foundation inspires and equips families and communities for success and service using timeless Native Hawaiian values and traditions. *42.
