RESOLUTION NO. 745 26
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE HAWAI`I ISLE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE
3 ON 3 BASKETBALL EVENT.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Police Department is committed to providing the highest
quality of police service and forming partnerships with the community to make Hawai`i Island a
safe place to live, visit, and conduct business; and
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) is a community youth
program under the Hawai`i Police Department that provides positive activities for keiki that
teach moral and social values, such as sportsmanship, fair play, respect for authority, self-
discipline, and the benefits of hard work, all while having fun; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Police Department is requesting funds for medals, scoreboards,
and referee fees for the HI-PAL 3 on 3 basketball event on January 16, 2027; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Police
Department to assist with expenses for the Hawai`i Isle Police Activities League 3 on 3
basketball event.
