HomeMy WebLinkAboutProhoroff, Richard Aloha another bill 147 mee?ng and it just keeps ge?ng harder to understand. I tried to register on the new portal but there is no provision for a special use permit when on marginal ag land. I don’t understand how to proceed. My houses were never farm dwellings. They are under the condominium regime and have been for decades. Tax bill shows my rental as residen?al. There is very li?le clarity in this bill. I have been hos?ng my vaca?on rental for over ten years. All taxes paid. Never a complaint. Never a no?ce from the county to acquire a use permit. I Try to keep up with the mee?ng a?er mee?ngs and s?ll don’t understand if I will be able to stay in business. There are many hosts like me elderly using their extra dwelling as their re?rement. Ohana houses that served as housing for family and children long since gone or moved away. Don’t see any specific considera?on here. When this regula?on started there were assurances that there would be a path for hosts to con?nue. I’m not seeing it. The revisions to 147 are confusing to say the least. Sec 25-4-B is not clear. What is a farm dwelling? Is a permi?ed ohana house a farm dwelling? Mul?ple changes to defini?ons that are not the same across departments. Guidelines just not clear. No Farming here in Kohala Estates. Bookings keep coming in well into 2027 would like a clear explana?on how to proceed. If a county bill keeps coming back for revisions ?me a?er ?me a?er ?me maybe it’s ?me to shelve it for a while and work on a new or be?er version. Thanks Richard Prohoroff
