Wahine Wellness Resilient Hawai'i, through its Ka Lokomaika'i CollectiveTM initiative, will host KOlia Girls Athletics
Hawai'i on November 27, 2026, at Pana'ewa Park in Hilo. This islandwide event, grounded in the principles of
Strive. Compete. Rise.,will provide girls and young women with access to flag football, volleyball, speed and agility
development, combine testing, wellness education, mentorship, and exposure to collegiate and career pathways.
The project responds to the limited opportunities Hawaii Island student-athletes, particularly those from rural
communities, have to access specialized training, recruiting exposure, college athletics, and career development
without traveling off-island. KOlia Girls Athletics Hawaii will bring these opportunities directly to Hilo in a
supportive, community-centered environment. Athletes will participate in skills training, flag football position
development, combine testing, injury-prevention and wellness education, and conversations with collegiate,
healthcare, public-service, and community professionals. High school athletes completing the combine will receive
individual results to support continued athletic development. The event is being developed with support from
community and professional partners, including Hawai'i Pacific University, Hilo Benioff Medical Center Foundation,
Hawaii County Community Policing, coaches, medical professionals, and volunteers. The goal is to strengthen
athletic skills while helping girls expand their vision of what is possible through sports, education, wellness,
leadership, college, and future careers. Approximately 100 student-athletes from communities across Hawaii Island
will be invited to participate.

measurable outcomes: • Register approximately 100 girls and young women from communities across Hawai'i
Island, with a goal of at least 80 participants completing the event. • Provide every participant with structured
instruction in girls flag football, volleyball, speed, agility, and athletic development. • Introduce at least 25 athletes
who are new or relatively new to girls flag football to the sport and opportunities for continued participation. •
Provide 100% of high school athletes completing the combine with individual testing results that may be used to
identify strengths, areas for development, and future athletic goals. • Provide participants with wellness and injury-
prevention education and exposure to college, career, healthcare, public-service, and other post-high-school
pathways. • Include athletes from rural communities, including Puna and other areas where access to specialized
clinics and collegiate exposure may require significant off-island travel. •Achieve at least 85% positive participant
and family feedback regarding the value, accessibility, and quality of the event. Success will be measured through
registration records, attendance, school/community representation, combine participation and results, activity
completion, partner participation, and post-event surveys. By December 15, 2026, Wahine Wellness Resilient
Hawaii will compile participation, evaluation, and financial data to document the project's educational,youth-
