Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of James S. Souza of
Hilo to the Hawaii County Planning Commission to replace
William F. Green of Hilo, whose term had expired on
December 31, 1996.
Mr. Souza is a retiree and was employed as the Director of the
Service and Parts Department for Hawaii Motors from 1947 to
1991. He is a member of South Hilo Rotary Club, the Portuguese
Chamber of Commerce and the Kalanianaole School PTA. Mr. Souza
is a member of the Republican Party.
If approved, Mr. Souza will serve a term to end December 31,
2001. Should the Council require further information regarding
this submission, you may call me at your convenience.
