Re: Resolution Creating Fire Fighter Positions
Enclosed is a resolution creating 7 fire fighter positions for the new ALS station
in Volcano that the State Department of Health has agreed to fund. This new
station will be able to commence on October 1, 2000.

new Volcano EMS unit (7 personnel @ 2468/mo @ 5 mo).

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The State Health Department, which funds the Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) program, has authorized the start-up of a new
advanced life support (ALS) ambulance in the Volcano area to
commence operation October 1, 2000. Lodging facilities for the
personnel are to be provided by the Federal Government.
This action provides for the creation of fire fighter positions
for this station and provides the necessary funding. The source
of funds is from the reallocation of funds within the EMS budget.
Two ambulances will be purchased instead of the three budgeted,
and additional medical equipment will be purchased for the Volcano
station.
