This Unit has been highly instrumental in bringing all agencies, public and private together, to address the domestic violence problems in Hawaii County. Domestic violence is a very serious and devastating problem in the lives of our children and families. It takes a concerted and a comprehensive approach to address domestic violence. Hawaii County has taken the lead role in coordinating with other community agencies in combating this deadly disease that has permeated throughout our County. I urge you and your fellow council members to approve the funding for the Domestic Violence unit. Thank you very much for your kind attention and your consideration of my request.
