Comm. 1741: PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES
From Mayor Larry S. Tanimoto, dated May 17, 1990,
extending an invitation to the Council to co-sponsor a
2-day Professional Workshop on Development Impact Fees
which will be held in August of this year. Informs
speakers and workshop leaders will include impact fee
experts Professor James C. Nicholas of the University
of Florida and UH law Professor David L. Callies, who
will discuss in detail how impact fees are calculated
and legal issues addressed in the adoption and
administration of the fees.
Comm. 1742: COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 175-90
From Planning Director Duane Kanuha, dated May 18, 1990
acknowledging receipt of Resolution No. 175-90,
pertaining to initiating a study to determine the
feasibility of amending the General Plan to redesignate
a 98,000 square foot property, identified as
TMK: 7-6-24:31, from Low Density to Medium Density.
Informs his office has up to 180 days to submit a
completed feasibility study to the Council. States the
Planning Department and the Planning Commission must
also amend their rules in
order to initiate this proposed amendment.

Comm. 1770: HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 264
From Gerald I. Miyoshi, Clerk, House of
Representatives, dated May 25, 1990, transmitting a
copy of House Concurrent Resolution No. 264, requesting
a study to determine the feasibility of purchasing
lands in Waipio Valley currently owned by
Bishop Museum, which was adopted at its Regular Session
of 1990.
