SUBJECT: Permanent Funding for Domestic Violence Unit
I am writing on behalf of the Medical Staff of Hilo Medical Center to request that
the Council provide permanent funding for the Domestic Violence Unit of the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney.
As physicians, we see daily the victims of domestic violence. There is, in the
community, an active coalition of citizens, professional and nonprofessional, becoming involved
with the problem of domestic violence, and the Domestic Violence Unit is at the forefront.
Your support and funding of the Domestic Violence Unit will enable this initiative
