Yamashiro, dated July 31, 2000, submitting for consideration and confirmation to the above committee the names of Louis Kaoiwi of Hilo (Council District 4) to succeed himself, serving as an unattached member for a term ending on December 31, 2005; and Shigeru Ushijima of Hilo (Council District 2) replacing George Y. Taketa (Council District 4), who resigned effective May 29, 2000. He will represent Club 100 and will serve the balance of the unexpired term ending on December 31, 2000. Informs that Mr. Ushijima may be reappointed for a second term. (This bill proposes to change the name of Isaac Hale Memorial Beach Pazk to Isaac Hale Memorial Park and to add the following rural cemeteries-Kihalani (Laupahoehoe), Kainehe (Kuka`iau), 1'a`alaea (Honoka`a), Kukuihaele, Kahei, Waimea and Hienaloli (Keopu) to the rural County cemetery listing on the Parks and Recreational Facility Schedule From Juliette M. Tulang, Director, Department of Parks and Recreation, dated August 7, 2000, transmitting the above bill. Comm. 876: SIGN VARIANCE REQUEST - KONAWAENA HIGH SCHOOL From Council Member Nancy Pisicchio, dated July 31, 2000, submitting on behalf of Konawaena High School, a sign variance request to enable the school to place a nonconforming sign on school property. Informs the sign code restricts signs to 24 squaze feet and, if approved, this variance would allow for the placement of a sixty (60) square foot sign. States the purpose of the sign is to inform the student body as well as local residents about upcoming school and community events. Also attaches pictures of the proposed sign. Comm. 881: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF (Res. 307-00) ROADWAY LOT WITHIN KAWAILANI GROVE, UNIT II, FROM WILLIAM V.
