CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS: Comm. 414: PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION - KONA ROUTE From Merle Martin, Center for Independent Living-West Hawaii, dated July 6, 1999, stating that the new Hele-On Kona-Intra route by the Mass Transit Agency is a step in the right direction. However, he feels that without a good marketing plan for the Kona service, that it could fail. Encourages all civic leaders to look to the future and consider this important issue. Comm. 414.001: From Gretchen Lawson, dated July 8, 1999, regarding public transportation. Requests the Council consider her recommendations, as listed, on the matters. (See next page for Comm. 414.002) PW&PC-19 Page 2 September 8, 1999 Comm. 414.002: To PWPC Chair Dominic Yagong from Council Member J. Curtis Tyler, III, dated July 13, 1999, regarding their discussion that there is a real need to inform West Hawaii residents of the improved area bus route, and Mr. Yagong's recommendation that the matter be taken up by PWPC. Comm. 416: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF (Res. 132-99) HO`OHOALOHA STREET WITHIN THE WAIAKEA ACRES II SUBDIVISION FROM WILLIAM V. BRILHANTE, TRUSTEE, MELVIN CECIL MORRIS, BRENDA JOYCE MORRIS AND CHRIS BRILHANTE, TAX MAP KEY (3)2-4-034-042, TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII From Corporation Counsel Richard D. Wurdeman, dated August 4, 1999, transmitting the above resolution and the subject dedication deed. Informs that the Departments of Public Works, Water Supply and Planning, a8er review, have all recommended acceptance of the dedication deed and that all the subdivision improvements have been completed. Comm. 425: AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO APPLICATIONS FOR (Bi11123) CEMETERIES From Council Member Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd, dated August 24, 1999, submitting the above bill for discussion. This bill states the Planning Director shall accept applications for cemeteries and the intent of the bill is to clarify the language in Chapter 6, Article 1 as to who is responsible for accepting applications for cemeteries.
