Comm. 55.013: TRANSFER OF FUNDS -JULY 1-15, 1999
From Controller Dixie Kaetsu, dated July 16, 1999, transmitting
two Reports of Transfers Authorized showing transfers made from
July 1-15, 1999. The first report shows transfers made for the old
fiscal year ended June 30, 1999. The second report shows
transfers made for the new fiscal year. Attached are copies of the
approved transfer forms.

APRIL 1, 1999 -JUNE 30, 1999

transmitting a report of reallocation actions taken on the positions
covered by civil service classification and pay laws for the fourth
quarter (April 1, 1999 to June 30, 1999) of the 1998-1999 fiscal
year.

Comm. 324: CONCERNS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY POLICE OFFICERS
ASSIGNED TO THE KEAAU-KULA SUBDIVISION
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
From Joseph Samuels, expressing concerns by the Keaau-Kula
Subdivision in Puna about the Community Police officers assigned
to their neighborhood watch. States it is difficult to get in touch
with them because they are performing other police assignments,
leaving them without supervision when problems arise. Notes
Federal grants have been specifically appropriated for Community
Police officers neighborhood watch programs. Proposes that more
police officers be assigned in Puna so that the designated
Community Police officers can perform their duties in the
neighborhood watch programs.
Comm. 335: REQUEST "REAL TIME CAPTIONING" AS PART OF BID
PROPOSAL FOR COUNCIL TELEVISION COVERAGE FOR
THE DEAF AND HEARING-IMPAIRED
From Laura L. Tobosa, Chair, County of Hawaii Committee on
People with Disabilities, dated June 17, 1999, recommending that
the County include "real time captioning" as part of the bid
proposal for the County Council television coverage. This is a
basic requirement of the FCC and total enforcement must be
completed by the year 2005.

(Res. 121-99} DONATION TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE
DEPARTMENT OF FIVE (5) CAMERAS WITH

The Public Works & Parks Committee and the Finance Committee meetings can be seen
on Tuesday, August 10 at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, August 17 at 8:30 p.m. The Planning
Committee meeting can be seen Thursday, August 12 and Thursday, August 19 at 8:30
