CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS: Comm. 124: APPOINTMENTS OF BETH G. ANANDA-STOUT, ANTOINETTE K. ALMEIDA, LORI A. CANNON, AND JACQUI L. HOOVER TO THE HAWAII COUNTY COMMITTEE ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated January 25, 1999, advising that he has appointed the following individuals to the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women. Beth G. Ananda-Stout, of Keaau, a 10-year resident of Hawaii, who is an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She will be replacing June Y. Shibuya of Hilo who has resigned due to a conflict in her work schedule. Ms. Ananda-Stout will serve the balance of the unexpired term ending December 4, 2000. HS&EDC-2 Page 2 March 5, 1999 (Cont'd Antoinette K. Almeida, of Hilo, a 42-year resident of Hawaii, who C- 124) is the Executive Director of Haola, Inc., replacing Judith S. Goldstein of Hilo, whose term expired on December 31, 1998. Ms. Almeida will serve a term ending December 31, 2002. Lori A. Cannon, of Kona, a 40-year resident of Hawaii, who is a registered nurse at the Kona Community Hospital, replacing Patrice L. Springer of Kona, whose term expired on December 31, 1998. Ms. Cannon will serve a term ending on December 31, 2002. Jacqui L. Hoover, of Waikoloa, a 38-year resident of Hawaii, who is the General Manager of Kings' Shops at the Waikoloa Beach Resort, is being reappointed and will serve a term ending on December 4, 2002. (NOTE: These appointments do not need Council confirmation.) Comm. 150: APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated February 12, 1999, submitting in compliance with Chapter 2, Article 25 of the Hawaii County Code, applications from qualifying organizations and a list showing amounts requested for Council's review and appropriation of funds for FY 1999-00.
