Arakaki, Ex-O~cio Member DATE: April 7, 1999 Wednesday PLACE: Councilroom TIME: 1:00 p.m CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA PRESENTATION ON FEDERAL MILLION SOLAR ROOFS (MSR) INITIATIVE BY PETER DREYFUSS, NATIONAL COORDINATOR OF THE MSR PROGRAM REFERRALS: Comm. 191: FEDERAL MILLION SOLAR ROOFS (MSR) INITIATIVE From Mr. Tom Goya, Manager, Customer Service, Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc., dated Mazch 9, 1999, submitting request to apprise the Council on the Federal Million Solar Roofs (MSR) Initiative. Informs Mr. Peter Dreyfus, National Coordinator of the MSR Program, will be visiting our island on April 7. Since the County of Hawaii, in partnership with HELCO and other community HS&EDC-6 Page 2 April 7, 1999 (Cont'd partners, has already been recognized as an early participant in the Comm. 191) MSR Initiative, informs they are fortunate to have him on hand to personally provide information on the MSR program from the federal perspective. He will provide information on how other communities across the country are responding to the goals and objectives of the MSR Initiative, and how the County of Hawaii can assist in promoting this community-based effort to commercialize solar energy technologies. Comm. 70.13: LANNY SINKIN'S CONCERNS ON THE Y2K ISSUES From Lanny Sinkin, dated March 8, 1999, expressing his concerns on the above issue. Comm. 203: KONA HERITAGE CORRIDOR FEASIBILITY REPORT Report submitted to the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism Community Based Economic Development Program, State of Hawaii, by the Pulama is Kona Heritage Preservation Council entitled Kona Heritage Corridor Feasibility Report. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 150: APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS From Finance Director Hany A. Takahashi, dated February ] 2, 1999, submitting in compliance with Chapter 2, Article 25 of the Hawaii County Code, applications from qualifying organizations and a list showing amounts requested for Council's review and appropriation of funds for FY 1999-00. Comm. 150.001: From J. Curtis Tyler, III, Chair, HS&EDC, dated March 25,1999, transmitting recommendations of the Human Services Non-Profit Grant Review Committee for funding ofNon-Profit agencies for Hawai i County in fiscal year 1999-2000.
