X1,68.008: REQUEST TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SERVICES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ON APRIL 17, 2000 TO DISCUSS THE SPECIAL STUDY ON COUNTY OF HAWAII LEASES WITH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS (Comms. 468.002) Copy of letter to Council Chairman James Arakaki from HS&EDC Chair J. Curtis Tyler, III, dated March 30, 2000, requesting a special meeting of the Human Services and Economic Development Committee to be held on Monday, April 17, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations. States discussing this agenda item at this time will allow for sufficient time for Council members to discuss the Auditor's study and its findings. Arakaki from FC Chair Aaron Chung, dated March 29, 2000, requesting that Communication No. 468.002 and related communications regarding the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations be re-referred from the Committee on Finance to the Committee on Human Services and Economic Development as he feels that the Study could be appropriately referred to HS&EDC where sufficient time could be afforded for discussion. comm. a68.no?: From Legislative Auditor Constance R. Kiriu, dated February 25, 2000, transmitting the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations which was prepared at the request of the Council by its Resolution No. 151-99. The study provides information on the County's current nonprofit organization leases, the leasing policies, nonprofit lessee compliance and leasing policies throughout the state. The administration was given about one week to respond to the special study and departmental comments are being transmitted independent of the study. Pakele, dated February 17, 2000, informing that she had no comments to make on the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations. Comm X68.00;: From Chief Engineer Rober[ K. Yanabu, dated February 4, 2000, informing they have no comments on the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations since the only properties referenced in the document are sites of two transfer stations. Comm. a68.oo6,: From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated March 13, 2000, submitting their response to the Special Study on County of Hawaii Leases with Nonprofit Organizations.
