Comm. 667: APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS
From Finance Director Hazry A. Takahashi, dated February 18,
2000, submitting in compliance with Chapter 2, Article 25 of the
Hawaii County Code, applications from qualifying organizations
and a list showing amounts requested for Council's review and
appropriation of funds for FY-2000-01.
Comm. 667.046: From Sulma Gandhi, Quality and Development Manager, Family
Support Services, dated March 2, 2000, transmitting an
amendment to the application from the YWCA for their nonprofit
grant for FY 2000-O1.

Comm. 667.047: Copy of letter to Helen Matsui, Department of Finance, from
Ron Hart, Director of Development and Public Relations,
Hospice of Hilo, dated July 23, 1999, submitting a copy of the
certificate of insurance for their organization for the coming year
as required for the Human Services Nonprofit Grant Program.
Comm. 667.048: From Connie Kiriu, Legislative Auditor, dated March 10, 2000,
informing during their review of nonprofit organizations' grant
applications, they noted discrepancies in the budget figures of four
organizations. These organizations were asked to correct and
resubmit their cover sheets.
Comm. 667.049: From Mary Jo Westmoreland, Kapiolani Child Protection Center,
dated March 21, 2000, submitting their testimony in support of
their request. States they are unable to appear at the meeting
because of the need for her and her staff to attend the major child
abuse/domestic violence conference and statewide planning
session of the year, scheduled on Oahu at the same time HS&EDC
will be holding their meetings on nonprofit organizations.
Comm. 667.050: From J. Curtis Tyler, ]]I, Chair, HS&EDC, dated April 6, 2000,
transmitting recommendations of the Human Services Nonprofit
Grant Review Committee for funding of nonprofit agencies for
Hawaii County for fiscal year 2000-2001.

GOVERNMENT ACCESS TELEVISION: Channel 9 (Hilo) and Channel 12 (Kona)
The Public Works and Parks Committee and Finance Committee meetings can be seen on
Tuesday, April 18 at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Apri125 at 8:30 p.m. The Human Services
& Economic Development Committee and the Planning Committee meetings can be seen
on Thursday, April 20 at 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, Apri127 at 8:30 p.m. All the above
meetings will be aired on Sunday, Apri130 at 9 a.m.
