Chairman James Arakaki and Members of the County Council
County of Hawaii
25 Aupuni Street
Hilo, Hawaii 96720
Yesterday West Hawaii Today reported that the County Council is
considering appointing Mr. Al Konishi as Deputy County Clerk. I would like
to comment on this.
I have known Mr. Konishi for approximately fifteen years and know him to
be a man of the highest integrity and honesty.
C. Brewer has retained Mr. Konishi in the past to represent us in various real
estate matters. We found him to be highly competent and very careful to
optimize results and minimize costs. We were impressed by his excellent
judgement and his ability to persuade others.
When it became necessary for me to seek legal advice on personal matters I
immediately went to Mr. Konishi to represent me because of my high regard
for his legal abilities.
Since you are familiar with Mr. Konishi's background and experience, it is
not necessary forme to repeat it. However, I will predict that if you appoint
him to this position, his background and experience, along with his ready wit,
legal skills and excellent judgment will combine to make him one of the most
effective County Clerks Hawaii County has ever had.
Thank you for this opportunity to express support for Mr. Konishi.
Sincerely,
F/
Eben Dale
