SLB]ECT Bill to Amend Chapter 2, Article 25, Re]anng to the Procedure for Awarding Nonprofit Grants
Attached please find a bill to amend Chapter 2, 4rttcle 25, Hawau County Code for the purpose of
allowing dtscrettonan• sne vtsttanons to nonprofit organ¢attons by the Council and its designated staff As
you are aware, many nonprofit organ¢anons maintain facthhes and programs well known to the Council
and its staff Moreover, the past practice of conducting a full week of sne visits taxes Council and staff
schedules annually Accordingly. I am proposing a tumor amendment to streamline the grant review
process In those instances where new applicants (and facilmes) submit grant proposals, l fully intend to
vtsn the sites to gather mfotmauon and insight to guide our constderauon of requested grant monies
