COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION N0. g® ~1 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO INTER INTO AN <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, <br /> <br /> FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT. <br /> WHEREAS, the United States of America through the U.S. Department of <br /> <br /> Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has authorized funding for equipment, technological <br /> and information systems improvements to enhance operations and communication <br /> within and between our offices and other agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, funds provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of <br /> Justice Programs are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the rnuncil to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into <br /> Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number 2000-LB-BX-2673 with the U.S. <br /> Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. <br /> <br />
